A former professional basketball player with a career spanning Spain, Greece, Portugal, and Brazil, Coach Khalid Mutakabbir brings a wealth of experience to the NBA Basketball School Doha. His journey began at Presbyterian College, where he excelled as a collegiate athlete before transitioning to a successful professional career overseas.
Widely regarded as one of the top player development coaches in the world, Khalid is known for his discipline, cutting-edge systematic training methods, and ability to develop athletes at all levels. His unique approach blends technical skill development with mental and physical conditioning, shaping players into well-rounded competitors on and off the court.
Beyond his coaching success, Coach Mutakabbir’s basketball expertise has also taken him to Hollywood, where he served as Kyrie Irving’s basketball performance double in Uncle Drew and played a key role in coordinating basketball action for major productions, including Chang Can Dunk, Swagger, and White Men Can’t Jump.
In addition to his basketball credentials, Khalid holds a black belt in SWAM, a hybrid martial arts system that enhances his approach to player movement, agility, and discipline. His ability to combine basketball fundamentals with elite-level performance training makes him a transformative mentor for aspiring athletes.
At our NBA Basketball School Doha camp, Coach Khalid Mutakabbir will be sharing his expertise, helping young players refine their skills, develop a champion’s mindset, and push their game to the next level.
